The CESK Bill of Quantities (BoQ) are a perfect match for cost estimators who want to efficiently translate detailed quantities into an accurate cost estimate, including costs for materials and labor.

The CESK BoQ dataset is developed to work in close harmony with the output from engineering design tools, such as BoQs and MTOs. Not only does the CESK BoQs allow for direct estimating of a wide range of disciplines, materials and sizes, it also incorporates information that is normally not included in a BoQ/MTO. For example, a piping MTO can be directly translated into a cost estimate of the piping materials included in that MTO, but also adds the related handling, supporting, testing and installation to your estimate. This means the estimator needs less time to prepare a complete cost estimate, leaving more time for optimizing and improving the quality of the overall estimate.

The CESK BoQs are also a perfect solution for estimating based on pipe specs, where the defined piping specifications can easily be matched to the corresponding BoQ rates.

CONTENTS

Although piping is an important part of the CESK BoQ data, BoQ rates are also available for numerous other disciplines,

such as electrical, instrumentation and steel structures. These can be found in the overview below.

At the BOQ level, the civil knowledgebase is composed of different pre-defined structures. The composition of each structure includes the subcomponents: concrete, steel (rebar), and form work. The quantity of each subcomponent associated with each structure depends on its dimension and industry standards derived relations. When determining the quantities of the components at the BOQ level, the only information needed is the volume of concrete for the predefined structure.
